Our Green Bit!

Our electric car charge point is being installed as I write, just 7kw but plenty for an overnight charge. This is the latest in our efforts to make our life and business here in the beautiful Scottish Highlands environmentally sustainable.

Our heating and hot water is provided by a  biomass boiler, and we recycle the pallets on which the wood pellets are delivered into kindling for our two log burners.

Water is sourced from our borehole and simply filtered and purified by ultraviolet light, no nasty chemicals.

Toiletries in your ensuite bathroom are made in Scotland with natural and organic plant extracts (and you can buy them to take home too) and we use high quality organic cotton and bamboo towels.

The ingredients for our cooked breakfast are sourced locally, you may pass the hens who laid your eggs on theway up the drive.  We make our own bread, cakes, biscuits , jams and marmalade. If we can’t make it, we buy the best, mostly organic and with as little packaging as possible. Everything possible is recycle, thank even the skins from the freshly squeezed oranges are dried and used for fire lighters !
